深洞五部曲

最近有個朋友與我分享一篇「我的街道有個洞」的文章，我當下看了感觸很深，同時也明白為何朋友會用手抄方式將它擺在2012年記事本的首頁來提醒自己。

它其實不是篇文章而是一首詩 (Autobiography in Five Short Chapters)，由美國一個能歌、能演，也能寫詞及寫詩的女藝人 — Portia Nelson所創作，其原文如下:

I
I walk down the street.
我走在街道上
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
人行道上有個深洞
I fall in.
我掉了進去
I am lost ... I am helpless.
我迷失…我無助
It isn't my fault.
這不是我的錯
It takes me forever to find a way out.
它花了我永生的時間來找出口

II
I walk down the same street.
我走在同一條街道上
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
人行道上有個深洞
I pretend I don't see it.
我假裝我沒看見它
I fall in again.
我再次掉了進去
I can't believe I am in the same place.
我不能相信我到了同一個地方
But, it isn't my fault.
但是，這不是我的錯
It still takes a long time to get out.
它仍然花了我很長時間才走出來

I walk down the same street.
我走在同一條街道上
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
人行道上有個深洞
I see it is there.
我看見它在那裡
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
我還是掉了進去…這是個習慣
My eyes are open.
我的眼睛是張開的
I know where I am.
我知道我在那裡
It is my fault.
這是我的錯
I get out immediately.
我立刻走出來
